Our talented leadership team is what keeps our mission alive and our efforts moving strong in the right direction. All of our leaders are dedicated towards building communities and reducing poverty at a global level. Their diverse range of skills empowers PHPG to take on initiatives ranging from education to business development. People Helping People global is proud to have the dedicated leadership team below.
Alex Tuck, President & Executive Director
Alex is one of the founders of People Helping People Global. He oversees the organization’s overall operation, both in the United States and Nicaragua. Alex also manages the organization’s webpage, fosters relationships with donors, and architects the overall donor-recipient system. Prior to founding PHPG, he served as a Business Analyst for Lincoln Investment Planning, an investment firm in Philadelphia. He graduated from Roanoke College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with extensive coursework in Finance and Economics.
Isabel Gamm, Vice President & Program Manager
Isabel founded People Helping People Global with Alex back in 2009. Her main focus is the facilitation of programs in Nicaragua. As a Program Manager in Nicaragua, she specializes in community development, basic skills training, and the disbursement and servicing of loans. In the States, she also handles the event fundraisers, artisan product sales, and donor relations. She recently graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies.
Michelle Piche, Secretary/Treasurer
Michelle has a master’s degree as a consulting teacher from St. Michael College in Burlington, VT. She currently teaches at as a consulting teacher in special education at Cambridge Elementary in Northern Vermont. Michelle has been a volunteer Chairperson for The Fresh Air Fund for 13 years as well as a volunteer for the Special Olympics since 1980. She has also done volunteer work for The American Cancer Society and The American Diabetes Association.
Paul Gamm, Director
Paul is currently a chemistry teacher at Bellows Free Academy Union High School #43 located in St. Albans, Vermont. He has been a teacher there for 26 years. He has also been a part-time chemistry instructor for the Community College of Vermont in St. Albans and Burlington. He has a B.A. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Psychology from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also has a 5th certificate in science teaching from the University of Vermont and a M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Vermont.
Emily Rooney, Director
Emily is currently residing in Seattle, WA, where she is busy studying herbal & alternative medicines and spreading the word of People Helping People Global to the West Coast – that is, when she is not working in the law office. In her free time she loves to rock climb, hike and ski while exploring her new state. Emily is a 2008 graduate of St. Lawrence University where she majored in Anthropology & Environmental Studies with a minor in African Studies. While enrolled at St. Lawrence she traveled abroad to Kenya and East Africa. In Africa, she learned much about non-profit programs and their impacts on local cultures. Emily hopes to use her international experiences and education to collaborate with others and ensure a sustainable existence for all.
Jonathan Dail, Director
Jonathan graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a BS degree in Finance. He has worked in several industries since graduation including the Operations Department at Wachovia Securities, the Revenue Department at T-Mobile, and most recently in the business/VoIP telecom industry as a Fraud Analyst in New York City. He serves on the finance committee and brings extensive analytical experience to the board.
